Experience narrowcasting at the Experience centre

Light, climate, vision, sound and even smell: in the Experience centre of Wolter & Dros in Amersfoort, it becomes directly clear how surrounding factors influence people’s experiences. Here too, narrowcasting of LeftClick plays a role.

Inspiring and ultramodern

In the Experience centre it’s all about comfort: from the luxury plush chairs in the theatre hall to the tightly designed bar at the spacious lounge. In this inspiring and ultramodern surrounding, visitors can be surprised by the innovative solutions such as climate ceilings, renewable energy techniques and AV-gadgets.

It is not the technique but rather the Experience that is central in the whole building. From the experience-world of clients and users, the possibilities of new techniques are displayed here. Narrowcasting is indeed also one of the techniques. At the Experience centre, there are three screens installed: one large screen at the centre of the lounge, and two small vertically placed screens in the corners of the lounge. The latter screens are also visible when visitors enter.

News and tickertape

Marieke Hogendorf, manager Security Centre at Engineering office Wolter & Dros B.V.: “The big screen was installed at the Security Centre around five years ago as a part of the whole AV policy. The screen is easy to fill and to program. We use it in particular to display news about the Security Centre. Besides that, tickertape is run on the screen with general news.”

Create atmosphere

“We installed the vertically placed screens about a year ago”, Marieke Hogendorf adds. “In the Security Centre, we want to show something new regularly. The placement of these screens was a part of that policy.”

“The vertically placed screens catch your attention right away when you enter. That’s why we make sure it is an experience: we have placed images on them that create a certain atmosphere. That is after all the purpose of our centre: show our visitors in which way they can create an experience. So, we use the screens not only functionally, but also as a part of our ‘presentation’: they belong to our wide range of possibilities, which we offer to provide a special experience.”

Operating from a distance

Operating from a distance is one of the greatest advantages according to Hogendorf. “In the past, we had to put content into the screen physically with a USB-stick. Now, I can decide via my laptop what is displayed on the screen, even from a distance.” Upon that, the Security Centre is positive about the functionality of the system. “Everything works just fine; we are very satisfied with it.”
